Flow Yoga

Drop In / Plus Member Class

Enjoy the power of connecting the mind, body and spirit with Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Improve your flexibility, core strength, balance, and stability though various postures and stretches. This is a dynamic style of yoga where the postures flow from one to the next with emphasis on the breath. All ability levels are welcome. We recommend newcomers arrive 10-15 minutes early to speak with the instructor about any concerns they have. Modifications are given for all postures and participants are encouraged to work at their own level.

Note: There is a $2 rental fee for yoga mats.

Public Climbing Hours
Climbing Gym

All persons aged 3 years and under are not permitted in the climbing gym except during specific times.
All persons aged 15 years and under must be supervised by an adult when climbing outside of a registered program.
Drop In Rates:
Adults $15.00
Youth (ages 4 – 15) $8.00

Parents do not have to pay a drop-in fee if they are the supervising adult belaying a child. They do, however, have to pay if they are belaying another adult.

Lunch Ride

Drop In / Plus Member Class

Join in the lunch ride and break up the day with an energizing 50 minutes of indoor cycling - an enjoyable, safe and thorough cardio workout. Using a variety of drills and training methods, this ride will include work on strength, power and speed.


Bike reservation is available 24 hours prior to class by contacting the Sally Borden Fitness and Recreation Desk.

Rock Starz! Climbing Club: 9 - 15 Years
Climbing Gym

Climbing is an amazing way to stay active and fit while learning skills that can be transferred to many other sports. A full-body workout, any child can learn to climb at any age with any sporting background. The climbers will learn balance, movement, teamwork, and how to set and reach goals. Each climber must know how to top rope belay before registering, a skill they can learn in with our Mighty Boulders or Youth First Steps class. All equipment included.

Classes run April 18, April 25, and May 2

$37 per climber

Strengthen, tone, condition, and burn calories in our full-body fitness Boot Camp. Classes will incorporate a variety of higher intensity cardiovascular and resistance training exercises to work your entire body. Reach your fitness goals and feel results with this energetic and effective workout. All ability levels welcome.

Next Steps - Lead Climbing & Belaying
Climbing Gym

Step it up a notch and learn how to lead climb! In this course, you will learn the safety principles of lead belaying and climbing so that you can venture into a new realm of indoor climbing. Must pass a top-rope belay test prior to registration and climb most top ropes routes in the gym comfortably. All equipment included.

$45 + GST per person

Yin Yoga
Fitness

Drop In / Plus Member Class

The practice of Yin Yoga is often considered “yoga for the joints – not the muscles”. It targets the connective tissues of the body (tendons, fascia and ligaments) and focuses on creating a release by holding poses for longer periods of time. Yin Yoga poses are generally more passive and meditative in comparison to flow classes, providing a calming and balancing of the mind while increasing the mobility and flexibility of the body.
* Dress warm or bring layers as yin is not as heat generating as flow classes.
