Canadian adventurer Sarah McNair-Landry grew up on a diet of snow and ice, reaching both poles by the age of 18. Together with whitewater kayaking specialists Erik Boomer and Ben Stookesberry she embarks on a kite-ski and kayak mission of epic proportions across Greenland to reach the most northern river ever paddled. In the film Into Twin Galaxies, these three National Geographic Adventurers of the Year push themselves to their limits and discover the unexpected.
Following the film, Sarah McNair-Landry, Eric Boomer, and Ben Stookesberry join us on stage to share their adventures in person.
The program begins with the presentation of the 2017 Banff Mountain Book Competition awards.

3 National Geographic “Adventurers of the Year “ embark on a remarkable kayaking mission in Greenland. Kite skiing over 1000 kilometers of the Greenland Ice Cap, they tow their white water kayaks to reach the most northern river ever paddled.
