Visual Arts Open Studios

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity attracts artists of the highest calibre, and it is our priority to ensure we can continue to invest in those artists. The Artists' Fund provides undesignated funding to support core operational needs for all our arts programs. It helps us design, implement, run our programs, as well as provide access through scholarships.

Your contribution gives emerging and established artists access to outstanding programming and mentorship — allowing them to create, explore, and push the boundaries of their talent. The Artists' Fund also provides mentorship from some of the best master artists in the world, and provides inspiration to create exceptional new work. At Banff Centre, artists can choose to present their work live or to virtual audiences. Made in Banff, shared with the world — the opportunities are endless.

Join the Named Artist Award program

In acknowledgement of a gift of $5,000 or more to the Artists' Fund, an Artist Award can be created in your name or in honour of a loved one. We invite you to join this circle of visionary donors who share our hope for greater access to world-class education and professional development in the arts.

Named Artist Award Program donors will be notified of their award recipient and invited to a donor appreciation event, where artists who benefit from the Artists' Fund will be present. You will learn firsthand how your support is transforming lives!

How you can make a difference

Our goal is to increase scholarship levels so artists can access our programming based solely on their creative ability, not their financial means. Currently Banff Centre provides over $3 million annually in financial assistance to the artists that attend our programs. Help us do more for more artists.

The Banff Centre is a rare earth magnet for the arts... it draws in talent from around the world. It's impossible to not feel creative in this setting.
